Together towards sustainable waste management solutions

'REGION WITHOUT WASTE' is a platform that unites all 18 municipalities from the Pelagonia and Southwest regions in their commitment to sustainable, efficient, and responsible waste management, and the creation of a modern and effective waste management system.

Through regional cooperation and a coordinated approach, the municipalities jointly strive to improve the quality of the environment and public services, as well as to promote the circular economy for the benefit of the community and future generations. These commitments are included in the Operational Version of the Regional Waste Management Plan, which recognizes municipalities as key actors in the management and minimization of waste in the country, holding a responsibility and role in fulfilling the goals of the National Waste Management Plan.

The platform serves as a central hub for coordination and the exchange of information and best practices between the municipalities of both regions, thereby harmonizing the approach and regional planning, while ensuring transparent communication with citizens and other stakeholders. Here, all information related to the work of the Inter-Municipal Waste Management Board for the Pelagonia and Southwest regions can be found, as well as various data on waste and the services provided by public utility companies. Through the WASTE-FREE REGION platform, the municipalities of the region demonstrate that real change comes through collective and dedicated work, with a clear goal and responsibility toward the citizens.

The platform is supported by the project "Sustainable Waste Management at the Local Level," funded by Sweden and implemented by SALAR International.
