Second Workshop Held for Development of Regional Waste Management Plan for Pelagonia and South-west Regions

In Ohrid and Krushevo, on May 12 and 13, 2026, the second workshop for the preparation of the new Regional Waste Management Plan (RWMP) for the Pelagonia and South-west regions was held, with participation from representatives of all 18 municipalities across both regions.

The workshop represents a continuation of the preparation process for the new RWMP 2027–2032 and was dedicated to defining the specific activities that will guide the next phase of waste management reforms, based on the already established vision and priorities of the plan.

During the sessions, participants worked on developing practical and achievable activities within the framework of the RWMP. Concurrently, discussions were opened on how regional goals will be translated into concrete local activities through the new local action plans.

The process is being implemented within the framework of the project "Sustainable Waste Management at the Local Level," funded by Sweden and implemented by SALAR International. Its goal is to ensure a coordinated, inclusive, and practical approach to establishing a functional and sustainable regional waste management system.
